Compactor Plus Customer Success Story - Delphi Corporation
THE PROBLEM:
A top-five manufacturer of technology products for the worldwide automotive market was under pressure to improve the efficiency of operations and reduce cost. In order to achieve these benefits, quality and other operational attributes could not be compromised. Improving the efficiency of waste removal was identified as a key area of potential savings.
The company was already working with a third-party service to supervise it's contacts with its waste haulers. Working together, they realized that many of the company's compactor containers were being picked up well before they were full. This resulted in many more pickups than was actually necessary.
This manufacturer realized that some type of fullness monitoring was the solution. After doing a lot of research, the Compactor Plus was found to be the best solution.
THE COMPACTOR PLUS SOLUTION:
Based on the potential number of compactors to be monitored, the use of Compactor Plus fullness monitors and WinEdge remote software was recommended.
So far, five of 17 plants have been equipped with Compactor Plus monitors, which their third-party service operates. In less than a year of use, the results have been spectacular! So much so, that Monitor installations are planned for all of the company's compactors at all plants.
All of the Compactor Plus Monitors have already reduced hauling expenses enough to more than pay for themselves. In fact, one Monitor had an ROI in less than one month! That was possible in one instance, because the Monitor identified a faulty trip switch on the compactor that was signaling a full container, when the compactor container was largely empty.
CUSTOMER BENEFITS:

- Better reporting of waste stream information
